Masala Chai Rooibos Tea Fusion Drink


  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tbsp rooibos tea leaves
  • 4 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, sliced
  • 2-3 tbsp honey or sugar (to taste)


  1. In a pot, bring the water, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and sliced ginger to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the rooibos tea leaves and simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the milk and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea into cups and sweeten with honey or sugar to taste.
  5. Serve hot or cold.
