Pumpkin Halwa
Twist: A modern twist on the classic halwa, using pumpkin instead of traditional ingredients like semolina or carrots. Ingredients:
- 2 cups grated pumpkin
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, cashews)
- Raisins for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat ghee in a pan, add grated pumpkin, and sauté for 10-12 minutes until soft.
- Add milk and cook until it evaporates, stirring frequently.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder, and cook until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- Garnish with nuts and raisins, and serve warm.
