SEA Subsidiary Awarded £15.1 Million Contract to Supply Torpedo Launch Systems to Canada

SEA Canada, a subsidiary of SEA, has secured a £15.1 million contract to manufacture lightweight Torpedo Launch Systems (TLS) for a significant naval vessel program in Canada. The project is set to commence immediately and is anticipated to be completed by 2030.

The TLS developed by SEA is a rapid-reaction system capable of launching various NATO standard lightweight torpedoes. SEA Canada will be responsible for delivering this contract, with support from SEA’s team in the UK.

Andy Thomis, Cohort Chief Executive, expressed his satisfaction, stating:

“This contract is another significant win for SEA and will deliver an essential capability for the Royal Canadian Navy. It builds on SEA’s long-standing reputation and successful delivery of the TLS system to customers around the world. Together with other recent contract wins across the Group, this further underpins our order book and enhances the visibility of future revenues.”

Naval News Remarks:

Although the specific naval program is not disclosed in the announcement, Naval News speculates that these TLS systems are likely intended for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program. The Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) represents the future large surface combatant of the Royal Canadian Navy. Official information has previously indicated that the class will be equipped with “Mk54 LWT and twin launch tubes.”
