Tragic Sicamous Bridge Crash Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Truck Driver

A fatal accident occurred over the weekend when a transport truck plunged off the RW Bruhn Bridge in Sicamous, B.C., claiming the life of 25-year-old Raminderjit Singh. Singh, who had recently started working with Mountain Peak Transport in Abbotsford, tragically lost his life after the truck crashed through the bridge’s guard rail and into the water below.

Raminderjit Singh, originally from India, moved to Canada in 2019 and had been working as a truck driver in both Canada and the U.S. for about two years. His family, including a sister in Australia and parents in India, described him as a kind-hearted and devout individual who was always ready to help those in need.

Singh’s family is appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage that might provide insight into the cause of the accident, as they seek closure during this difficult time.

The RCMP has yet to release further details on how the incident occurred, but they have confirmed that packages from the truck’s load were found washed ashore, and some diesel fuel has leaked into the water. Fortunately, the truck was not carrying any hazardous materials.

Sgt. Murray McNeil of the Sicamous RCMP expressed condolences, noting the tragedy of the young driver losing his life while attempting to cross the bridge.
